This 1961 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I is a four-seat roadster that is finished in cream over red vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes switch-actuated overdrive along with dual SU carburetors, an aluminum radiator, 15″ wire wheels, front disc brakes, a cream hardtop, a black soft top and tonneau cover, and a luggage rack. The car was cosmetically refurbished under previous ownership and was acquired by the seller in 2018. This BT7 is offered with a BMIHT certificate, removed side curtains, a set of uninstalled wheels, and a clean Delaware title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Healey Blue and was repainted cream under previous ownership. Details include a cream hardtop, a black soft top, a black tonneau cover, a hood scoop, dual fender-mounted side mirrors, and a chrome luggage rack.
Chrome 15″ wire wheels with knock-off hubs are mounted with 165-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.
The front and rear seats are upholstered in red vinyl with white piping and are accompanied by red carpets. Appointments include a heater, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and Austin-Healey-script floor mats. The carpets were replaced in 2018.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary gauges. The mechanical odometer shows 71k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six features a green valve cover, an aluminum radiator, and dual SU carburetors. The fuel tank, fuel sending unit, radiator fan, and fan belt were replaced in 2018.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with a switch-activated overdrive unit. Corrosion is visible on underbody components.
The BMIHT certificate indicates the car was dispatched to Montreal, Canada, on June 24, 1960, and lists factory colors, equipment, and identification numbers.
Side curtains and a set of five uninstalled wheels are included in the sale.
