This 1960 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 Mk I was refurbished prior to the current owner’s 2009 acquisition, and it is finished in red and black over a coordinated interior. Power is provided by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and the car has a black soft top and removable hardtop, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, a cabin heater, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. Work performed since 2020 has involved replacing the overdrive solenoid, overdrive switch, and brake master cylinder. This 3000 Mk I is now offered by the seller, a BaT Local Partner, on behalf of the owner with service records, literature, a set of wind wings, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
The car was refinished in its current combination of red over black under prior ownership. A removable black soft top and hardtop will accompany the car, and other details include a hood scoop, detachable side windows, bright trim, and chrome bumpers with overriders.
The 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Vredestein Sprint+ tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, and a replacement master cylinder was installed in 2022.
The 2+2 cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black leather with red piping in addition to a cabin heater and door storage pockets. The overdrive switch was replaced in 2020.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths white-dial instrumentation, including a 120-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer. The fuel level gauge and the combination gauge were repaired in 2012 and 2022, respectively. The five-digit odometer shows 63k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD6 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 137 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque.
The engine is linked to a four-speed manual transmission. A replacement solenoid for the Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive unit was installed in 2021.
Literature, a set of wind wings, and various spare parts are included in the sale.
