This 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 is one of a claimed 355 triple-carbureted BN7 Mk II cars built before the two-seat roadster model was discontinued in March 1962. Chassis HBN7L14047 left the factory in June 1961 finished in Healey Blue over blue leather and equipped with a 2.9-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual side-change gearbox with overdrive. It reportedly spent time in Spain before being brought to the US, and later remained with the same owner in Ohio from the mid-1970s until its acquisition by the late Austin-Healey specialist Kent Lambert in 2011 and refurbished over the next five years. The car features 15″ knock-off wire wheels and front disc brakes along with bucket seats and a Smiths cabin heater. This 3000 Mk II is now offered on dealer consignment in Portland, Oregon, with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, refurbishment records, a removable blue tonneau cover, and an Ohio title listing the car as a 1962 model.
The car came finished from the factory in Healey Blue (BU2) and was disassembled, stripped to bare metal, placed on a rotisserie, and repainted as part of the aforementioned multi-year refurbishment completed in the mid-2010s. Exterior details include a front grille with vertical bars as well as a hood scoop, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The car is not equipped with a soft top. A removable blue tonneau cover is included in the sale.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured with two-ear knock-offs and mounted with 165-width Michelin XZX tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The cabin was redone as part of the refurbishment process. It houses bucket seats upholstered in blue leather with ivory piping accompanied by color-coordinated trim on the dash, armrest, and door panels. Further interior appointments include a Smiths heater as well as a dash-mounted mirror and door storage pockets. The headlight switch and heater cable clamp were replaced in August 2025.
A banjo-style steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,250-rpm redline, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The speedometer was rebuilt by Palo Alto Speedometer in 2016, and the five-digit odometer now shows 15 miles. True mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six breathes through triple SU HS4 carburetors fitted with Coopers air cleaners. The cylinder head was rebuilt in the course of the mid-2010s refurbishment, while work in August 2025 involved repairing an oil pan leak as well as replacing the starter solenoid and spark plugs.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual side-change gearbox with Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive. Work performed as part of the refurbishment project involved replacing the clutch disc as well as rebuilding the pressure plate, driveshaft, and rear end.
The April 1986–dated British Motor Industry Heritage Trust lists factory colors, equipment, and identification numbers along with a production date in May 1961.
Chassis number is HBN7L14047, the current Ohio title lists the VIN as HBNL14047.
