This 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 BN7 Mk II is one of 355 triple-carburetor two-seaters built by the carmaker, and it was dispatched to the United States in March 1962. Three SU carburetors feed the 2.9-liter inline-six, which is paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Acquired by the current owner in 1997, the car has been refurbished and is finished in white over black leather. Features include a black soft top, detachable side windows, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, a Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel, and bucket seats. The carburetors and brakes were serviced in July 2025, the clutch master cylinder was rebuilt, the coolant was flushed, and the oil was changed. This 3000 Mk II is now offered in Connecticut on dealer consignment with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, a driver’s handbook, recent service records, and transferable New York registration.
The car was finished from the factory in Ivory White and has been repainted. Features include a removable black soft top, vertical grille bars, a hood scoop, detachable side windows, bright trim, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders.
Silver-painted 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 165R15 Dunlop SP 20 A/S tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. The brake fluid was flushed in July 2025.
The bucket seats have been retrimmed in black leather with white piping, the seller tells us. Interior appointments include black carpeting, lap belts, a passenger-side grab handle, a heater, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and door-panel storage pockets.
The Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths white-dial instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges displaying oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 26k miles, less than 5k of which were added under current ownership; true mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured triple SU HS4 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 136 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque. The carburetors were serviced in July 2025 by cleaning the float bowls and needles, setting the mixtures, and adjusting their synchronization. The coolant was also flushed and the oil was changed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive. The clutch master cylinder was rebuilt in July 2025. Corrosion is noted on underbody components. Replacement identification tag is shown.
The BL Heritage Limited certificate lists factory colors, options, and serial numbers along with dispatch to the United States on March 8, 1962.
The vehicle is being sold on its New York registration, which serves as the ownership document in New York.
