A well restored 3000 is a joy to behold. The sleek 1950s style is lightly enhanced by neat chrome accents and often, as here, finished in fetching two-tone colour schemes.
This car sports British Racing Green over white paintwork, the quality evident from the photographs and matched by the bodywork finish. The flush and consistent panel fit is a mark of the level of craftsmanship.
Inside the car is neatly trimmed to factory specification, featuring the veneer dashboard and leather trim that marks out these final cars.
There are no obvious signs of wear inside and out, reflecting what appears to be very little use since
completion.
The Mechanics
2,912cc 6cyl engine
Twin SU carburettors
4spd manual gearbox with overdrive
Evidence of mechanical and running gear overhaul
Reported to be in good running order with no issues to report
The big 6cyl engine under the 3000’s bonnet is a huge part of the car’s appeal, the final cars like this one delivering a 150bhp shove alongside a suitably burbling soundtrack.
This car appears to have been mechanically overhauled during its refurbishment. In summer 2023 the fuel system was also attended to. It runs the 4spd overdrive gearbox of these later cars, which makes long-legged cruising considerably more relaxing.
We understand that the car runs and drives very well with no reported issues.
