This 1964 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and it is finished in British Racing Green over black vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a black soft top, driving lights, 15″ wire wheels, front disc brakes, dual SU carburetors, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a woodgrain dashboard, a center console, and seatbelts. The car was acquired by the owner’s late spouse in 2004, and it was serviced in early 2025. This 3000 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a clean Maryland title.
The car is finished in British Racing Green and has received paint repairs, the seller tells us. Features include a folding black soft top, Lucas driving lights, a hood scoop, fender-mounted side mirrors, bright trim, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Scratches and other imperfections are visible.
Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires measuring 165HR15. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The 2+2 cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl with contrasting piping. Interior appointments include a wood dashboard, a center console, seatbelts, and a locking glovebox.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths black-dial instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination readout displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 51k miles.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD8 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 150 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque. The car is said to have been serviced in early 2025.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The seller states that the clutch and the fuel pump may require work. Corrosion is visible on underbody components.
The Maryland title notes that it is a “duplicate or corrected” document.
