Car to be at auction 11/24/12
www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2012-11-24/car/1964-austin-healey-3000-mk-ii ...

Auction description:
Registration BUT 345B
Chassis Number HBJ8/27828
Engine Number 29K/U/H2128
Odometer reading 15,770
Estimate £24,000 - £30,000
Originally delivered to Latham's Limited of Leicester on the 6th August 1964, it was specified by the first owner, Geoffrey Dodgeson to sport disc wheels, a heater, laminated windscreen, Roadspeed tyres and no overdrive as detailed in the Heritage Trust Certificate. Within the history file, there exists paperwork for much of the work and care over the last forty odd years including an engine re-bore in 1979 and restoration of the bodywork between 1983 and 1989, but most recently, since the vendor acquired it in 1992, the car has resided in a centrally heated garage and used primarily for pleasure and holidays to the tune of 1,500 miles. During that time the steering has been changed to rack and pinion and benefits from a new steering wheel. 'BUT 345B' took part in the French Alpine Rally in 1997 covering 1,100 miles through the mountains and down to the south of France performing faultlessly. It has recently been serviced by Healey specialists, Orchard Restorations, with many invoices from them over the years. Supplied with an MoT test certificate valid until August, 2013, V5C and a full history, this thoroughbred classic would represent great fun and a sound investment.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
