'DUR 200B' is certainly a best-of-breed example of this much sought after motorcar. Offered for sale from a fastidious private owner, this car is in truly exemplary order and one any enthusiast would be proud to own. The vendor has uncovered evidence of the cars history from as early as 1978 when the car was registered to a company director in Huddersfield. Come 1979, David Royle Vintage Motor Car Restoration received the car for a period of two years to enhance and improve the car. Correspondence between the then owner and David Royle see the car returned to the owner in late 1981 with a full bill of health. The history continues in 1994 with an MoT test certificate issued in Huddersfield showing mileage of just 50,786. This was to increase only marginally to 51,104 miles in the period to September 1999 with numerous small invoices for the likes of a new exhaust system, reconditioning of steering box, replacement of water pump, new brake discs and the strip down, clean, rebuild and balance of the carburettors.

In 2002, after the car had passed to a new owner and been treated to the fitment of a luggage rack and wood rim steering wheel, DUR 200B was entrusted to The Northern Healey Centre for what would become a 3 year and £13,500 restoration incorporating extensive structural and cosmetic enhancement, the particulars of which are documented on the work sheets accompanying the car. The result is a car which presents in almost better than new condition and is reported to deliver an exceptional driving experience, delivering impressive performance.

Because the vendor lives abroad much of the year, he regrets he does not get to use the car as much as he would like. This car is offered for sale with current MoT test certificate and UK V5C registration document. This car has been incredibly sensibly guided and is deserving of considerable attention today...

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
