This 1958 Austin-Healey 100-6 BN4 roadster was produced in May 1957 and initially dispatched to Toronto, Canada. It was acquired by the current owner as a project in 2014, and work performed over the following two years involved a repaint in blue and cream, the addition of navy blue leather upholstery, and the replacement of the blue soft top. Power is provided by a 2.6-liter inline-six that is backed by a replacement four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. In preparation for the sale, components for the braking and ignition systems were replaced. Equipment includes 15″ knock-off wire wheels, fender-mounted mirrors, removable side curtains, a cabin heater, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. This 100-6 is now offered by the seller, a BaT Local Partner, on behalf of the owner with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, refurbishment records, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
Refinished in blue and cream as part of the work completed between 2014 and 2015, the car is equipped with a replacement blue soft top and top boot. Additional work involved repairing areas of rust on the floor, fabricating replacement panels, and performing bodywork around the car. Details include a hood scoop, fender-mounted mirrors, removable side curtains, and twin exhaust outlets.
Silver-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Michelin XAS tires. The brake master cylinder and wheel cylinders were replaced in preparation for the sale.
The bucket seats are trimmed in navy blue leather with white piping and are fitted with lap belts. Interior appointments include a cabin heater, a passenger grab handle, and a power outlet located below the right side of the dashboard.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 6k-rpm tachometer, auxiliary gauges, and a 120-mph speedometer that was rebuilt in 2014. The five-digit odometer shows 83k miles.
The 2.6-liter inline-six was equipped from the factory with dual SU carburetors, and the exhaust manifolds were replaced during the work in 2015. Components replaced in 2026 include the spark plugs and ignition coil wires.
The seller reports that a replacement four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive was installed in May 2018. A reinforced transmission panel was welded in 2014.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate indicates that the car was built on May 27th, 1957, and lists the factory serial numbers, colors, and equipment. Refurbishment records will also accompany the car.
The serial number attched ot the car is shown above, and the portion “42500” is listed as the VIN on the current California title.
