This 1958 Austin-Healey 100-6 is a four-seat BN4 roadster that is said to have been acquired by the selling dealer in 2022 from the spouse of the previous long-term owner. The car is described as a running project and is powered by a 2.6L inline-six mated to a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. Additional equipment includes dual SU carburetors, Smiths instrumentation, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, and chrome bumpers with overriders. This BN4 project is now offered at no reserve in New York State with retractable top hardware, a white hardtop shell, removable side windows, and a clean Minnesota title.
The car is said to have been refinished in its current shade of red in the 1970s. Exterior details include a fender-mounted mirror, a hood scoop, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Chrome pitting, paint chips, and scratches are visible, and rust is noted on the inner rocker panels. A removable white hardtop shell will accompany the car, though it is missing its rear window. Hardware for a retractable top as well as a set of removable side windows are included in the sale.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured via two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 185-series Dunlop SP41 tires. Braking is handled by drums at all four corners. The selling dealer states that the car is not roadworthy and recommends servicing the brake system before operation.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl. The left door panel is missing, the dashboard cover is loose, and the carpets are threadbare. Scratches, tears, and dents are present throughout the cabin.
The banjo-style steering wheel is worn and fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer flanked by gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit odometer indicates 75k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The 2.6L OHV inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors and can be seen running in the accompanying video gallery. The selling dealer recommends inspecting and servicing the fuel lines before operation.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. The selling dealer reports that the clutch requires service, and a rust hole is noted on the front-left side of the frame.
