This 1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 roadster was restored in 1986, after which it was reportedly driven 234 miles before being parked in 1993. It is powered by a 2.7-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The car is finished in Guards Red over black leather, and equipment includes a tonneau cover, Moss Motors chrome wire wheels, and bucket seats with lap belts. This BN2 is now offered as a project on behalf of the current owner with a car cover, an uninstalled black convertible top, and a clean Texas title in the owner’s name.

The car was repainted in Guards Red in 1986 following the replacement of the floors. Exterior details include an adjustable windshield, chrome bumpers with overriders, and a single exhaust outlet. A black tonneau cover and an uninstalled black convertible top are included in the sale.

The Moss Motors chrome wire wheels are mounted with 165-section Pirelli Cinturato P3 tires. The tires are approximately 40 years old and will require replacement prior to regular use. The suspension and drum brake components were replaced with Moss Motors parts in 1986.

The bucket seats and door panels were reupholstered in black leather with red piping during the build. Interior appointments include a passenger grab handle, door pockets, lap belts, and a dash-mounted overdrive toggle switch.

The banjo-style steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6,000-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer has been reset and shows 234 miles.

The replacement 2.7-liter inline-four was rebuilt in 1986. The transmission and differential were also rebuilt at that time. The seller notes that the car was parked with fuel in the tank in 1993. A video of the engine cranking is provided in the gallery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.

The Texas title displays the VIN as BN21229854, which contains a clerical error substituting the number “1” for the letter “L” found on the chassis tag.
