This 1955 Austin-Healey 100 BN1 roadster participated in Sportscar Vintage Racing Association events before being purchased by the seller in 1988, and it was refurbished over ten years beginning in 2000. Work included fitting aluminum Fourintune body panels and a repaint in white, while the 2.7-liter inline-four underwent a racing-focused overhaul. Power is routed through a five-speed Toyota Supra-sourced transmission, and the car rides on American Racing magnesium wheels that are mounted over uprated front disc and rear drum brakes. The cabin was re-trimmed in blue upholstery, and additional details include a 100S-style windscreen, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, fog lights, a custom exhaust system, a Le Mans-style fuel filler, and a pair of SU carburetors. The front brake calipers were rebuilt in preparation for the sale. This modified BN1 roadster is now offered with a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.
An aluminum trunk lid, fenders, and front and rear clips were sourced from Fourintune, according to the seller, and they are joined by a louvered hood and steel doors. The exterior was painted white, a Lexan 100S-style windscreen was installed, and the bumpers were removed during the refurbishment. Additional details include driving lights, dual side mirrors, and a Le Mans-style fuel filler. The car does not have a top.
American Racing magnesium 15″ wheels are mounted with 168/80 Nankang tires, and a spare is stowed in the trunk. The front disc and rear drum brake system is equipped with dual master cylinders as well as 3000-specification front discs and uprated rear components, per the seller. The front calipers were rebuilt and the system was bled in May 2025.
Blue vinyl upholstery with white piping was fitted over the bucket seats during the refurbishment, and interior elements include a passenger grab handle, lap belts, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror.
The Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 338 miles, and the total mileage is unknown.
The 2.7-liter inline-four is said to have been overhauled and modified in the early 2000s with race-specific components that yielded a 10.5:1 compression ratio. The engine breathes through a pair of SU carburetors and a custom exhaust system that exits ahead of the left-rear wheel. The seller states that a head gasket was replaced and the coolant was flushed in early 2022. Oil drips are noted.
The Toyota Supra-sourced five-speed manual transmission was installed using a “Smitty’s” conversion kit. The seller notes that the clutch was bled in May 2025.
