This 1960 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 Mk I spent time in California before it was imported to Canada in 1978, according to the seller. Power comes from a 2.9-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and additional equipment includes a black soft top, driving lights, wind wings, dual SU carburetors, dual remote oil filters, and front disc brakes. The car was acquired by the current owner’s spouse in 2009, and work performed since then included rebuilding the transmission and overdrive unit, re-trimming the seats in black with white piping, and installing replacement 15” knockoff wire wheels and a stainless-steel exhaust system. This BT7 is now offered in Canada by the seller on behalf of the owner with a tonneau cover, side curtains, a jack, partial service records, and Ontario registration in the owner’s name.

The seller states that the car left the factory finished in Old English White and was repainted several decades ago. Exterior details include a black soft top, driving lights, fender-mounted side mirrors, wind wings, aftermarket quarter panel side marker lights, and chrome-plated bumpers. Paint chips, cracks, and crazing are noted around the car, and rust on the lower edge of the trunk lid is visible.

Replacement chrome-finished 15” wire wheels secured by re-plated two-eared knock-offs were installed and mounted with 165-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires in 2015. An older spare tire on a painted wire wheel is stored in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes up front and drums out back. The suspension is equipped with lever-arm shocks, though some components from a prior tube-style conversion remain in place. The seller reports that the rear wheel cylinders were replaced in 2023.

The four-place cabin features seats that were reupholstered in black with white piping under current ownership along with replacement carpets. The seller notes that the horn is inoperative, the heater control lever is stuck, and wear on the driver’s seat and interior surfaces is visible.

The banjo-style steering wheel features an aftermarket wrap and fronts a replacement 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and oil pressure. An aftermarket oil temperature gauge has been installed on the right side of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 90k miles, and the total mileage is unknown.

The 2.9-liter inline-six is equipped with a finned valve cover, dual SU carburetors, dual remote oil filters, and a stainless-steel exhaust system.

The four-speed manual transmission is equipped with overdrive and was rebuilt in 2011. The seller notes that the overdrive unit leaks and needs to be topped off monthly. Corrosion is noted on underside components, and a dent is visible on a chassis crossmember.

A full tonneau cover, side curtains, and a modified jack will accompany the car.

The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a province that does not issue titles for vehicles. It is being sold on its registration.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
