Sold on www.vintagerestorationsltd.com) did their 150-point evaluation on the car and their restoration recommendations at the time were completed at a cost of approximately $7,000. One can go to their website and see what is included in their 150-point assessment of a car.

Electronic ignition installed in 2009.

British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate.

Chassis # H-BJ8-L/38074 off assembly line 16-26 September 1966.

New tires warranted due to age; not wear. Also, the wire wheels should be tuned.

Information specific to this car's rear turn signals.

The rear shroud turn signal lights on the 1967 BJ8 are typically the same size as the brake light below and the two front lights, but on this car, they are smaller (see pictures); they still function as turn signals and the amber lenses were installed by Vintage Restorations in 2005 replacing similar lenses with deteriorating rubber surround. The original lenses were red and flat, unlike anything I have been able to find at Moss Motors or other parts suppliers in the U.S. The red brake light lenses on this car are exactly like the white and amber lenses on the front of the car. The Anderson&Moment Authentic Restoration Guide states that the rear lights on these cars during this period varied greatly depending upon the regulations on the various countries where the cars were to be shipped. It is suspected the car may have been manufactured for the European market. The Anderson&Moment Authentic Restoration Guide also states the Model Number for these cars was as follows: H for Healey, B indicating engine size, J for convertible, 8 for the big Healey, and U for cars destined for the U.S. Otherwise, the U was an L. Please note the number on this car is HBJ8L038074.

Vehicle is located in Hilton Head, SC. If you have any questions or would like to see the car, please email me and I will get in touch (by email or phone if you would like to leave a number).

Thanks again for looking at the auction.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
