1966 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III is a 2+2 roadster that is finished in black over a tan interior and is powered by 2.9-liter inline-six mated with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes a black soft top, a stainless-steel exhaust, 15” chrome knock-off wire wheels, a badge bar with driving lamps, and a wood steering wheel and dashboard. This 3000 BJ8 is now offered with a black tonneau cover, service records from 2013, floor mats, and a clean South Carolina title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in black and was reportedly repainted under prior ownership. Brightwork has been re-chromed or replaced where necessary per the seller, and a replacement black soft top was installed in 2013. Additional features include a black boot cover, a badge bar fitted with driving lamps, fender-mounted side mirrors, and opening 3/4-vent windows. A black tonneau cover is included in the sale, and the soft top can be seen both raised and lowered in the gallery.

Chrome 15” wire wheels wear two-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with 165/80 Nexen tires that are said to have been recently installed. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes, and work performed in 2013 included replacement of the brake master cylinder and booster.

The interior was refreshed under previous ownership and is trimmed in tan upholstery with matching door panels and replacement carpeting. The dashboard is accented with black walnut panels along with a custom black walnut steering wheel, and additional equipment includes lap belts, a heater, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror. Black floor mats are included in the sale.

Smiths instrumentation consists of a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 78k miles, approximately 2k of which were added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.

The 2.9-liter inline-six is equipped with twin SU carburetors that were rebuilt in 2013. Additional work performed at that time included installing an upgraded radiator and replacing the fuel pump, distributor, and water pump. An oil change was performed around six months ago.

The four-speed manual transmission is equipped with overdrive and was also rebuilt and fitted with a replacement clutch master cylinder in 2013. A stainless-steel exhaust system has been added.
