    Buy it now price $55,000.

    Sellers description:
1965 Austin Healey 3000, Mark III BJ-8. This car received about 3,000 miles since its restoration ten years ago. It has always been kept in a heated garage .

I am the owner of British Motor Corporation of Philadelphia, PA. We are the largest Austin Healey restorer in the United States. We have 9 techs that are dedicated to the restoration of Austin Healey's. Our shop has restored over 200 Austin Healey's since our inception in 1989. We currently restore 24 to 30, Austin Healey's per year. We perform restoration and service of Austin Healey sports cars.

This car was put into a barn in Albany, back in 1987 until purchased in early 1999. This car was restored by our shop back in 1999 for a client in MA. The car received new floors, sils, wiring, mild mechanical rebuild of the engine and tranny, new exhaust, hydraulics, and interior. Car was restored for a client that wanted a nice straight number 2+ car as a driver. He was not interested in over restoration of the frame and underside. The primary focus at the time was to produce a well sorted out car. Strong straight lines, solid body and frame.

We recently had the opportunity to purchase the car and brought it back to our shop for clean up and updating. The exterior and door jambs of the car received a bare metal strip and repainted using the correct shade of Colorado Red upon its return to our shop in January of this year. The paint service was performed using the highest grade Urethane primers, European paint and Urethane clear coat. The new finish ($10,000 retail value) was wet sanded and polished to the high luster and the same show standards used on our concours restorations. We checked out the mechanics and performed some minor adjustments and upgrades. (About $3,000 retail of mechanical updates.)

The car is in excellent condition and is rated a number 2 car.

The body is straight and solid to true number 2 standards. The door gaps are perfect as are the hood gaps. The frame is in excellent condition and solid.

The mechanical condition is great. It has been tuned and completely checked out by our shop.

    Suspension is in great condition.

Brake are in perfect order, with a properly operating booster.

The interior is the original style Amble interior which we replaced 10 years ago but is till in excellent condition.

Top is a Everflex top, replaced 10 years ago and is in excellent condition. Everflex top boot included.

    Wheels are Dayton wires.

    Dashboard replaced 10 years ago.

Oil pressure at start up is 55 to 60 lbs.

Spare tire is mounted on a painted wire wheel.

    (Faults)

1.Emblems on the trunk are in the wrong order. This was an error 20 years ago by another shop that started and stopped the restoration. (We decided to leave it alone.)

2.The frame is solid and shows signs of wear, but was not repainted recently by our shop. The frame shows some signs of inproper jacking and has some minor jack dents. It had been touched up with a brush a while back. We cleaned it and left it alone.

    3. The engine bay is nice, but is missing the shroud on the radiator fan. We will repair this before shipping. We could also offer a upgraded cooling system which is manditory on all our current restorations. This system reduces operating temp. by about 17 degrees available for $800.00

We have checked this car out thoroughly and addressed all issues. It is a nice car that will stand up to a close up inspection. I am a Austin Healey specialist and have appraised and judged numerous Healey's. I have built a number of Healey, MG, Triumph and American show cars in my 38 years of auto restoration experience. I have total confidence in this car.

The car can be viewed in Basking Ridge , New Jersey.
