    Additional info from above auction:
    Lot 7
    Scottsdale 2015
    1964 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III BJ8
This lovely preserved example from 1964 is an original left-hand-drive, "Phase I" North American export model with just over 21,800 miles at the time of cataloguing. Known history begins in 1970, when honeymooners acquired it in Reno, Nevada. The couple enjoyed the Healey over the next four years until the arrival of their first child. The car was then retired and remained in storage until 2012, when marque experts Tom and Randee Rocke of Healey Lane purchased it. In an effort to retain the car's original features, Healey Lane expertly detailed and reconditioned the paint and upholstery. In addition, the mechanical systems were thoroughly reviewed, cleaned, and serviced, the carburetors rebuilt, the engine tuned, and a new exhaust was fitted. As a sound vehicle in excellent condition, the Healey's body panels were not removed. Even the factory-painted orange lines indicating fluid levels remain underhood, as do the BMC manufacturer's tags.

This Healey provides the incomparable feel only a low-mileage, unrestored vehicle can deliver. This wonderfully preserved automobile represents a unique opportunity to acquire an important and irreplaceable example of a beloved British sports car.

    Car returns to auction 10/21/17

    Auction description:
    Lot 56
    Dutch title
    Chassis n° HBJ8L 26434

    - Rare original condition
    - Less than 22,000 original miles
    - Recent work, Overdrive

This car is in a particularly rare and interesting state of origin. It is an US export model with a followed history since 1970, when it was bought by a couple from Reno, Nevada, for their honeymoon. They used the car for four years, till the first child arrived, and it then remained garaged till 2012, when it was purchased by Tom and Randee Rocke, of Healey Lane. Specialists of this model, they decided to preserve the car in its original state and to avoid a restoration that would destroy its charm, while doing the necessary work to get the car restarted: complete cleaning, mechanical overhaul and a new exhaust. Since then, the car has found a new owner who has re-imported it to Europe and has carried out several additional work in 2016 for more than € 6,000, including a brakes and dashboard wood repair and the replacement of the carpets, the steering wheel and the tires. The body is in a very sound condition and the underbody is well preserved. The car comes with its original tools and jack, and it displays just 21,850 miles since new.
The condition of this car is exceptional, featuring the traces of a wonderful lifetime, which no restoration is ever capable to reproduce.

    Estimation 55 000 - 65 000 €
