Original RHD car exported to S Africa in ? I have photographic records of body rebuild in 1991. Painted bright red.

Much of this car remains a mystery but being an exhibition car, I need to know more!

It is a mystery because it didn't go through the BMC Dealership network and found itself in S Africa. On its return in 1995 it covered only 4000 miles before being laid up in 2001.

I have just obtained the car (Dec 2008) and it is superb with engine running like a pussy cat (purring at idle but vicious when provoked). Unfortunately the 1991 paint job was naff.

Very important 1958 exhibition car with no history post Heritage Certificate and prior to 1991 rebuild.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
