Car to be at auction 4/11
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

Auction description:
Lot 235 - 1956 Austin Healey 100/4 Le Mans
Estimate: €48,000 - €55,000
Registration Number: German Registered
Chassis Number: BN 2 L 230308

This fabulous Healey was delivered new in Paris on 6th January 1956. Still fitted with its matching numbers engine and gearbox with overdrive, it was supplied in period with the Le Mans kit, as shown on the plate fitted to the dashboard. A documented frame-off restoration by British specialist John Chatham was carried out in the 1990s and the car has since been owned by the current vendor. Further work was carried out between 2001 and 2003, notably the overhaul of the engine, gearbox, overdrive, steering and the carburettors (rebuilt to "M" specification). Since completion the car has completed in the region of 15,000kms, mostly on prestigious rallies in Germany. In 2009 the brakes, radiator, shock absorbers, petrol pump, plugs, battery and tyres were replaced or overhauled as necessary. In addition the engine has been uprated by famous Healey tuner Dennis Welch.

A detailed list of all the work done is available in the car's file, also a photographic record of the restoration. The car is equipped with a hardtop, full weather equipment, tonneau, original windscreen, also books and tools.

Offered from us with historic German registration documents and Heritage certificate, this car has over €42,000 spent with the current vendor, with bills to substantiate.

This superb early Austin Healey is eligible for the most prestigious events such as the Mille Miglia and as such is an opportunity not to be missed.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
