Car listed as sold at:
www.fantasyjunction.com/cars/1332-Austin%20Healey%20-100/4%20Roadster-Inline%20F ...
Sellers description:
1954 Austin Healey 100/4 Roadster
s/n BN1L150293 , Engine no. 1B205273
Colorado Red with Black Interior with Red Piping
This particular car is a matching numbers show driver quality example, which was owned by an Austin Healey concours judge from Carmel, California for 12 years. It is exceedingly straight, solid, and correct. In addition to making and strong presentation on arrival, the car drives beautifully, owing largely to its knowledgeable custodianship, as well as a resent $2,800 no-expense-spared major service.
The car displays extremely nice paintwork in the original Colorado red, over straight and solid panels. The brightwork is also beautiful, as are the painted wire wheels. The interior has a fresh appearance, and is correctly detailed. The engine bay sparkles, with the appropriate finishes throughout. The underside is solid and straight, and reasonably detailed. Recently, a new top has been fitted, and new side windows sourced. The car is walks the perfect line of being nice enough to show, yet not so nice as to inhibit use.
The recent service work performed at Wright Way Auto included rebuilding the brake wheel and master cylinders, turning the drums, installing new rear brake shoes and new axle seals, rebuilding the rear shocks, and changing all fluids. Accordingly, the car runs and drives exceedingly well, which not all show-winning Healey's can boast.
Included with the sale is the matching wire wheel spare, the side curtains, records for the recent work performed, a heritage certificate, and two very smart driving caps to finish out the period appearance of this wonderful British sports car.
As a pre-1957 model, this Healey is eligible for many of the premier historic car events in the US and abroad. Enthusiasts looking for a correctly detailed car for tour events, or to occasionally show will appreciate this car's well sorted nature in both fields.
