This 1955 100/4 - a righthand drive BN1 finished in red over cream with black leather piped in red interior, shod with wires - has been given a high standard restoration at some time. Today, though not concours, the overall cosmetic condition is described as good.

The Longbridge-built 2.6-litre four powered two-seater is fitted with the three-speed manual gearbox with desirable overdrive. Apart from the fuel gauge, replaced at some time, the rest of the instrumentation is claimed to be model-correct. Period Lucas PL headlamps are fitted, chromework is said to be in good order, the hood has been renewed, a half-tonneau cover and sidescreens are included as is a service manual.

The vendor believes that XRA 21 has been enhanced with some 100/M modifications, though only a few turns of the starter motor are required to fire up the engine, which is said to be in good order. Transmission and electrics are claimed to be good, too, whilst the tax-exempt disc will be valid until next April and the MOT current until May 2005.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
